Performing in Flow
Presence and Well-being on Stage
If I weren't excited before a concert, I could
play just as well in my bathroom.
Itzhak Perlman
What the violinist Itzhak Perlman wants to say here is that nervousness and excitement before a concert are quite normal, even necessary phenomena. They provide us with this boost of extra energy, which enables us to do our best on stage. Obstructive and sometimes fatal, on the other hand, is performance anxiety, this too much excitement that undermines our skills and prevents us from showing what we can do.
Stimulated but Relaxed
Bringing all your potential to the stage
The workshop teaches supportive and strengthening techniques from sports psychology, body psychotherapy, self-assurance and mental training that help to deal with this too much of excitement. The goal is an optimal inner condition, a state of stimulated but relaxed alertness, which allows us to reach our full potential on stage.
The following topics are covered:
I was totally excited about how well my audition was going! I was completely surprised that I enjoyed every minute and it was a pity when it was over. Thank you for showing me how to enjoy music again as a professional musician!
Cathy Irons, Violinist, Christchurch, New Zealand
In March I participated in your workshop Performing in Flow. I can’t tell you how much your work has changed my singing, especially the appearance! I have been able to play this Christmas season with so much joy, courage, shine and inner conviction. Thank you!
